Bing Places for Business
What is Bing Places for Business?
Bing Places for Business is a free tool provided by Microsoft that lets you manage how your business appears on Bing Search and Bing Maps. It serves as your digital storefront, displaying key details like your address, phone number, hours, website, photos, reviews, and more to potential customers every day.
Whether you run a brick-and-mortar store that customers can visit or a service-area business (like a plumber or consultant who travels to clients), a verified Bing Places listing helps build trust, boost local visibility, and turn online searches into real visits, calls, and sales. It’s available at no cost to eligible businesses with in-person customer interactions.
Why Your Business Needs One
- Appear in Bing local search results and Bing Maps
- Share updates, offers, events, photos, and videos directly with customers
- Collect and respond to reviews to build credibility
- Provide accurate directions, hours, and contact info
- Drive more website traffic, phone calls, directions requests, and in-store visits
A complete, optimized listing can significantly improve your local visibility on Bing, especially with Microsoft Edge users and Copilot searches.
What You’ll Need to Get Started
To create and fully optimize your listing, here’s what I’ll need from you (most of it you already have on hand):
- Business Name – Your exact public or legal name as it appears on signage and marketing.
- Business Address – Precise street address (no P.O. boxes). This is required for storefront businesses and verification. Service-area businesses can list the areas you serve and often hide the exact address.
- Phone Number & Website – A direct business line and your website URL (if you have one).
- Business Category – Your primary category (and any additional ones) that best describe what you do. Bing suggests options as you type.
- Operating Hours – Regular hours plus any special/holiday hours.
- Photos & Visuals (highly recommended) – High-quality, original images make a huge difference in engagement and click-through rates. Ideal photos include:
- Exterior of your location (multiple angles)
- Interior shots
- Your products, services in action, or team members
- Logo and branding materials
The more relevant, high-resolution photos you add, the better your listing performs. I can guide you on what works best or even help source professional shots.
Note on Eligibility: Your business must have a real-world location or serve customers in person. Purely online-only businesses or rental properties do not qualify.
